Ryo Fujimoto

Ryo Fujimoto joined the former Chuo Aoyama Audit Corporation (now PwC Aarata LLC) from one of the Japanese mega banks after graduating from the University of Tokyo.
After joining PwC, he was involved in financial and internal control audits for several Japanese global corporates as well as subsidiaries of foreign companies in Japan. He was also involved in financial due diligence and business process improvement support projects leveraging the knowledge and experiences gained from the audit work.
He then was seconded to PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the UK and spent 5 years from 2005 to 2010. Whilst providing financial and internal control audits to Japanese subsidiaries in the UK, he widened his professional career through his diverse experiences ranging from wind-down projects, and training instructors to liaison work for various tax and legal matters.
In 2013, he moved back to the UK to work for a small UK-based accounting firm, where he supported companies setting up in the UK and provided total tax and accounting services to small and medium-sized companies. In 2016, he set up his firm, Fuji Accounting Office LLP, with the aim of providing 'Japanese Quality in the UK' to support Japanese inbound businesses into the UK.
He was involved in public sector projects by JICA and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) as a project consultant and is currently the local coordinator (tax and accounting) for the Overseas Expansion Support Platform organised by JETRO London.
In September 2024, he was appointed Partner of SMASH International Audit Corporation.
