The ratio of foreign investors in listed companies has been increasing in recent years, and the importance of disclosing information in English is becoming even more important. Simply translating Japanese text into English may be difficult for foreign investors to understand and may not provide sufficient information for investment purposes.
Against this backdrop, many companies have voiced concerns about the lack of resources and personnel for English translation work, the occurrence of excessive overtime and holiday work in the face of deadlines, and concerns about translation work becoming a specialist task and accurate disclosure in English.
At SMASH International Advisory, we promise to prepare English financial statements that are easy to read and that foreign investors will find attractive, and that are reliable for investment purposes, by having translations done by native English speakers and by Certified Public Accountants with extensive overseas experience.

Approximate fees

The standard fee is set at ¥20,000 per page (excluding tax). The fee varies depending on the volume of information and the type of document to be prepared, and will be quoted separately.

Translation of English disclosure documents

On 26 February 2024, the Listing Department of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. announced the ‘Outline of Improvements to the Listing System to Expand English Disclosure’, and by March 2025, it will be mandatory to disclose financial information and timely disclosure information in English and Japanese simultaneously, The new system is expected to make English-language disclosure mandatory, in addition to the simultaneous disclosure in Japanese and English of financial information and timely disclosure information by March 2025.

We use English words and phrases that are used in the local market to create more professional English financial statements, rather than difficult-to-read English documents.
